Netsoc controls three DNS zones - netsoc.tcd.ie, 83.226.134.in-addr.arpa and 4.0.0.1.0.0.0.7.7.0.1.0.0.2.ip6.arpa. That is our forward zone that you'll usually use and the reverse IPv4 and IPv6 zones for converting from IP addreses back to a netsoc.tcd.ie domain name.
Offical DNS Entries
In order to allow the admins to move services around users should use domain names such as login.netsoc.tcd.ie rather than spoon.netsoc.tcd.ie.

Note that aside, from email, netsoc.tcd.ie could be pointing to any (or none) of our systems. Don't rely on it.
Users should never directly need to use the entries for the HTTP and FTP proxies, they will be automatically put in your environment.
