The first change you'll notice is that the Netsoc PuTTy will log you into Spoon instead of Matrix. This is due to login.netsoc.tcd.ie being switched over. Your password should be the same as your Matrix password.

All the popular programs like hey, o2sms and chat have already been installed on Spoon.

If you'd like to use Spoon now, just type ssh spoon in your Matrix terminal.

Files

All your files that are currently on Matrix will not be moved for you. ~bbrazil/bin/transfer-files-from-matrix can be used to easily move your files over.

Email

Email for username@netsoc.tcd.ie will now be delivered to Spoon. This means that you'll get automatic spam and virus filtering.

If your mail is currently forwarded to your @tcd.ie address then your mail will continue to be forwarded via a .procmailrc.

If you are doing something more fancy you'll want to read Spoon Email, which details the new virus and spam setup. For a seamless transition it is suggested that you setup your mail on Spoon now and put a .forward file on Matrix sending your mail to username@spoon.netsoc.tcd.ie.

Websites

Your webspace will continue to work from Matrix. This means that you shouldn't delete your www directory off Matrix.

Users will not have websites on Spoon.
