Intersocs IRC Network
From Support
The Intersocs IRC Network is an IRC network setup between the Netsoc's of several colleges around Ireland as a part of Intersocs.
It currently connects Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, University of Limerick, Maynooth, IT Carlow and IT Tallaght. Other colleges were once part of the Intersocs IRC network, including UCD and NUIG, but they disappeared.
To easily get on the network use chat.
IRC Channels
The main public channel is #intersocs, but there are a number of private channels such as #netsoc which is Trinity Netsoc's private channel.
Most of the other colleges have their own private channels too. For example, DCU have #lobby and IT Carlow have #bitbucket. Entering another Netsoc's private channel is not recommended, and will likely lead a to a swift expulsion.
Notes
Users are advised to read the article on IRC Abbreviations to learn about some of the the abbreviations used.
There is a Google map of some of those on Intersocs at http://www.frappr.com/intersocs/ . Users are encouraged to add themselves.
